Abstract

This article approaches the close relationship between the work of João de Ruão and the silverwork of the Renaissance, as noted by several authors. Through the confrontation of a set of major works of the sculptor with religious silver implements executed in the same period, we highlight this relationship, which will culminate with the campaign of the Chapel of the Holly Sacrament of the Sé de Coimbra.
