Based on the analysis of ornamental decorations (portals, tombs and altarpieces) sculpted by Jehan de Rouen in Portugal between 1528 and 1580, this article questions the place of the sculptor in artistic transfers between Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. The identification of the ornamental models used by the sculptor, along with the close examination and contextualization of his work in the European artistic background of the first half of the 16th century, will allow the identification of a number of specific features that suggest Jehan de Rouen as the author of some of these inventions.
