A brazilian experience in pile foundation 2nd párt - Behaviour of pile foundations in santos low-lands

Abstract

This paper is a second part of a previous paper.  It begins with a method of interpretation of the results of loading tests on piles, based on as already stablished, in its first part, on the transference of loads from piles to the soil. ln this respect some case records of foundation in Santos Low-lands whose behaviour was interpreted in view of loading tests on individual piles, are presented. For the sarne cases bearing capacity of piles are analysed according the interpretation proposed by Meyerhof in this last "Terzaghi Lecture". Finally settlement observations of group of piles, driven or molded into the soil in Santos Low-lands.
