The eighth Luso-Brazilian meeting of specialists and researchers in food studies took place at the end of October. The event was coordinated by Carmen Soares, Full Professor of the Classical Studies section of the Department of Language Literatures of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra; Maria Helena da Cruz Coelho, Full Professor retired from the History section of the Department of History, Archaeology and European Studies of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra; Inês Ornellas e Castro, Guest Assistant Professor of the Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon; Paula Barata Dias, Assistant Professor of the Classical Studies section of the Department of Languages and Literature of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra, and Nelson Ferreira, Research Officer of the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies. Isabel Gouveia and Daniela Pereira, Senior Technicians at the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies, assisted the executive committee. The development of the work also received the support of a secretariat composed of students from the 1st cycle of Classical Studies, (Eulália Marques and of the 2nd cycle of Food: Sources, Culture and Society (Henrique Camões, Leonardo Sousa, Maira Loureiro Polatto, Marta Mamede, Susana Tavares) and of the 3rd cycle in Food Heritage: Cultures and Identities (Marina Prezotti).
