Energy Security, Environment, and Blackouts

Currently, it is no longer only the environmental impacts of different energy sources that are seen as the central concern of environmental doctrine: in these areas, issues related to energy security have been gaining increasing prominence. The accident that occurred in March 2011 at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan demonstrated that there are significant repercussions not only for the environment but also economically and socially as a result of energy failures.
