O conceito de “Humanidades Digitais” (HD), apesar de frequente no vocabulário acadêmico há mais de uma década, tem sido usado até hoje com distintos significados. Ao mesmo tempo que designa uma comunidade de práticas, também pode ser entendido como os discursos sobre essas práticas, um conjunto de atividades transdisciplinares ou um campo de conhecimento. Um consenso em torno desse conceito, entretanto, ainda que não tenha encontrado estabilidade crítica nem um campo unificado, é a ideia de que ele representa um forte elo entre as Humanidades e
as Ciências Sociais e um conjunto de práticas de produção e validação de conhecimento relacionadas a sociedades cada vez mais dependentes das tecnologias digitais (cf. Portela, 2020). Surge, assim, uma das perguntas-chave deste dossiê que a revista MATLIT: Materialidades da Literatura agora publica: como a diversidade de perspectivas, contextos e temas relacionados à América Latina pode contribuir para criar ou ampliar discussões teóricas e artísticas
das Humanidades Digitais?
