A Literacia Mediática na Prática do Consumo Noticioso de Jovens: Um Estudo Exploratório com Estudantes de Jornalismo e Comunicação da Universidade de Coimbra

Resumo

Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa exploratória que procurou compreender como os e as estudantes de Jornalismo e Comunicação da Universidade de Coimbra utilizam competências de literacia mediática no consumo de notícias. Teoricamente, parte da conceptualização de Livingstone (2004) e Hobbs (2010); empiricamente, baseia-se em seis entrevistas semiestruturadas com jovens de 19 e 20 anos, que foram submetidas a uma análise temática (Braun & Clarke 2019; Souza, 2019). Os resultados indicam que, embora possuam competências de literacia mediática, enfrentam desafios para as aplicar no quotidiano. Os e as participantes adotam práticas como visitas diárias a sites de órgãos de comunicação, acompanhamento de canais profissionais nas redes sociais, treinamento de algoritmos das plataformas e comparação cruzada das informações. Já a criação de conteúdo encontra-se mais comprometida, não por falta de conhecimento, mas por receio de reações negativas no ambiente online.
