Abstract

Discussing the key populism/environment, this study analyzes how the editorial coverage of national and international newspapers frame the environmental policy of the Bolsonaro Government. Starting from the discussion of authoritarian populism, from Pippa Norris and Ronald Inglehart (2016), we seek to identify the extent to which newspapers use populism categories to interpret the actions of the Bolsonaro government in the environmental area. Methodologically, the Framing Theory is used in conjunction with the lexical analysis of the texts, with the help of the Iramuteq software, to map the main meaning cores present in editorials.
