The novel Claraboia, written in the 50s but published only in 2011, stands out for revealing important components of José Saramago’s literary prose, as themes, characters and style already emerge in this novel and have a core function in the aesthetic-literary project of the writer. In this sense, in the light of the essay, another element that is already predominant in Claraboia’s pages, the objective is to analyze how this novel contributes to the construction of the gallery of characters belonging to Saramago’s novel prose.
