Abstract

Far from designating the way we feel about the varying situations we experience, atmospheres express the expressive and tonal qualities of these situations. Thus, from the perspective of an ecophenomenology of ambiences, it is absolutely useless to distinguish between appearing in itself and appearing to us, to posit, prior to the appearance of a subjective phenomenality of consciousness, an asubjective phenomenality of the world, since, in the manifestation of any ambience, these distinctions no longer apply.
