Abstract

The Church is a historical reality, always reforming, at the service of the incarnation of the Spirit of Christ in human history. The history of the Catholic Church had difficulty discerning its way in the modern world. When it seemed that he had found it, in the Second Vatican Council, he left decisive pastoral questions to be decided after the Council and lost track of the most urgent reforms. It achieved amazing media results, but also suffered irreparable losses. The theological desert was also the abandonment of those who could contribute to a creative reform. The great media eventually made the Church the image of financial scandals and the coverage of church pedophilia. Pope Francisco came up with a style, a message, a project and a new call. Paradox: While there were Catholics for urgent reforms, these were prevented; now, when they are proposed by Pope Francisco himself, the ground is occupied and undermined by his opponents. But he does not give up and gathers more and more children of Creative Hope!
