This paper intends to present the justification of Cicero for his voluntary exile, as well as to outline the arguments that the orator employed in his defense after the return. Therefore, my intention is to demonstrate how the orator rhetorically uses many of his political and philosophical conceptions, which include the notion of citizenship, community and republic.
