The goal of this essay is to make known and reflect on the censorship proceedings and minutes of the Portuguese Censorship Committee on Brazilian films during the Marcellist period (late 1968-1974). The documentation consulted and mentioned is in the National Archive of Torre do Tombo (ANTT), in Lisbon. How much of the Brazilian film production, of these years, arrived in Portugal? What are the most censored topics? How many Brazilian films were censored and banned in Portugal from the end of 1968 to 1974? These are some of the questions we will try to answer.
