This article discusses the function of imagination and the creative activity of blind children in storytelling activities. The work is based on Vygotskian studies on imagination and creative activity, configuring a case study, with a 6-year-old blind child enrolled in a specialized school in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2020. The results point out that the compensatory processes, made up of specialized tools and techniques, as well as the intervention given in the instructional process, allow the blind child to participate in the same mechanisms that guide the creative activity of a sighted child.
