Abstract

When we think about the εὕρησις of fire in Ancient Greece, we think about Prometheus’ myth. But in ancient sources we can read many clues about an origin of fire from the earth. To set together these stories by an anthropological point of view, may lead to shed a light on ancient perspectives about the many meanings and functions of Earth in everyday life.
