Presenting part of the broader research results (Author, 2019), this text seeks to insert studies of journalistic genres and formats within the scope of internet journalism practiced in the Brazilian Countryside of São Paulo. It uses the categorization brought by Marques de Melo and Assis (2016) and concepts on local journalism and proximity cyberjournalism to study the online content of three newspapers - Jornal da Cidade (Bauru), Cruzeiro do Sul (Sorocaba) and Correio Popular (Campinas). It is supported by bibliographical research, multiple case studies, semi-structured interviews and quantitative content analysis, in order to categorize proportions between different genres and journalistic formats. Based on its results, it is considered that the cases studied seek to reproduce aspects and practices of the national press and, regarding the formats of the content, they present a predominance for the informative genre and formats of news and notes.
