This article analyzes the grotesque portrait model within the context of an accumulation of genres and burlesque formulas of the Historia de las Cuevas de Salamanca by Botello de Moraes. The main examples and mechanisms of caricature are further commented on – hyperbole, animalization, reification, disintegration of the human figure or satirical degradation.
