This article discusses the notion of exteriority within the theoretical and poetic production of the Surrealist Group of Madrid. It seeks to identify the main lines of force that articulate this concept with the activity of the SGM and with the surrealist movement in its broadest scope, considering the way in which the poetics of exteriority becomes a conveyor of coherences between aesthetics and politics, paying particular attention to the influence of the anarchist tradition on surrealism.
