This essay analyses the satirical parody in Dinossauro Excelentíssimo (1972), by José Cardoso Pires, to Estado Novo and its highest representative, Salazar. To understand the multiple dynamics of this narrative we carried out a biographical, historicist, narrative and stylistic approach. This analysis is based on the hermeneutic study by Maria Lúcia Lepecki, in "O intertexto em Dinossauro Excelentíssimo". However, there are divergences regarding the understanding of the protagonist targeted in the fable. Emphasis is also placed on the parodic characterization of the social classes considered here, highlighting the multiple lenses through which the work can be viewed: the generic, the symbolic, and the journalistic. This study also includes biographical references regarding its author, which help to clarify the conditions that gave rise to this narrative. Additionally, the work stands out in the national literary landscape as an example of Portuguese identity, both for its themes and linguistic variety.
