Considering the relationship between Poetry and History, we aim to refl ect on the dialogical impulse of discourse, as well as on the relationship between the instinctive essence and the intellectual approach of poetic making, factors conforming to the truth of the poetic text. Following this reasoning, we will recall the dialogue between literary text and the contextual other, the problem of reference, as well as the gnosiological dimension and the symbolic measure intrinsic to the literary text, necessary bases for (adhering to the Bakhtinian “responsive understanding”) the addition of the subject/creator and the other/reader (Octavio Paz).
