One of the most important processes in a (literary) narrative character’s figuration is the description, here understood as direct characterization. Matter continuously under consideration, from Antiquity to present days, and according to multiple perspectives, such facts seem to indicate the lacunarity of these studies, legitimizing the design of new descriptive typologies. Our proposal disrupts the traditional binary of protagonist’s original framework vs. dissemination, portrait vs. self-portrait, physical vs. psychological, detailed vs. schematic, evaluative vs. derogatory and stereotypical vs. innovative description.
