Abstract

The “crisis of the Humanities” is discussed in its epistemological, ethical and political implications in the context of the increasing commodification of the universities. In order to acquire a new centrality in the order of knowledge, the humanities will have to undergo a profound reconceptualization. In the process, the development of a critical potential will depend on their ability to establish themselves as a mode of border thinking, well aware of its precarious condition, but, at the same time, capable of vital articulations.
