Abstract

The work of Edward White in analysis, bearer of a narrativity, thematizes a certain mismatch of man with himself that induces a project of initiation towards a demand for identification. Between the concrete nothing and the projected everything arises the difficulty in setting a value. To achieve the union of the self to itself (the ideal to the real), the subject craves for affiliations (amorous/sexual) that enable him to resolve the dualities that mark his existence (life/death, male/female, self/other). From a search for the topophilic space, emerges the feminine as a figure of mediation in familiar recreation (Buescu), by the confluence of motherliness and genitality. However, the possible euphoria in the instant of the erotic encounter is eliminated by the inherent mobility of the female figure that contradicts the desire for fixation in the fullness of the erotic encounter.
