This paper studies the political mobilisation and propaganda of Portuguese exiles in Brazil and the United States after the Second World War, when the Allied victory over the Nazi-Fascist powers raised hopes for the end of the Salazar dictatorship and the return of democracy. The aim of this article is to analyse some of the most significant propaganda and agitation actions carried out by exiles in the immediate post-war period, in an attempt to promote and legitimise their cause among Portuguese immigrants in America.
