The present paper intends to make a contribution to the study of perceptions of learning transfer in adult education and training. It was based on Holton and his collaborators’ Model (Holton, Bates, & Ruona, 2000), taken up by Caetano (2007), and on the methodology associated with it, including the adaptation of the Learning Transfer System Inventory (LTSI) in the Portuguese version by Velada (2007). A total of 190 trainees from different vocational areas participated in this study. All participants were enrolled in Adult Education and Training programmes in an Employment and Professional Training Centre. The age range of the participants was between 21 and 50 years old and they had different levels of education. The results of the study show, in general, a positive perception of knowledge transfer. Significant differences were observed with regard to sex, levels of education, reason for attending a vocational course, satisfaction with thetraining provided, and level of confidence in finding a job after the training course.
