The evaluation allows the teacher to assess the student’s development, also serving as a reference for improvements and regulations in the teaching-learning process. At the Military College of Brasília – CMB, in 2003, a student evaluation model with problem situations was adopted. In 2015, the model was modified and became more subjective and contextualized. The aim of this study was to analyze the changes in the way of evaluation of the CMB, from the perspective of teachers. Forty high school teachers participated in the qualitative research. It was possible to verify improvements in the students’ summative and cognitive performance, valuing the evaluation model from 2015 to (...) in relation to the previous one, which lasted from 2003 to 2014. Thus, it’s verified that, for the success of evaluation methodology based on contextualization, continuous training of teachers is necessary, ensuring the persistence of teaching quality and prioritizing the improvement of teaching.
