I Disaster Risk Reduction Meeting - Rio de Janeiro - 2015: shared challenges and experiences

The Sendai Framework for Action sets out the global prevention plan, reaffirming the need for commitment to reduce risk. This paper presents the 1st Fluminense Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction carried out by SEDEC-RJ (Secretariat of State for Civil Defense) in 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, in which actions were presented by COMDECs (Municipal Civil Defense Coordination) from Of Sendai Landmark. The event provided the sharing of good practices, encouraging the exchange of experiences among Civil Defense and Protection professionals, as well as the valorization of efforts by these professionals and the promotion of initiatives in education, contributing to the formation of these with regard to the implementation of the Guidelines of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
