PARÓDIA E LITERATURA PORTUGUESA: DA REVISÃO TEÓRICA ÀS POTENCIALIDADES DIDÁTICAS

Abstract

Parody is a discursive practice with significant critical relevance for studying literary reception and the evolution of forms. This understanding of parodic writing in contemporary literary theory replaced earlier conceptions that usually confined it to ridiculing high literary genres. This paper presents an analysis of some canonic texts of Portuguese literature studied in middle and secondary school textbooks. These include Camões, Pessoa and Saramago, among other writers, whose works have been the object of parodic rewriting. Through this analysis the paper shall illustrate the didactical outcomes of parody, both at the levels of dynamic reading processes and reception processes.
