The history of the Iberian Península was one of the most fundamental sources for Spanish theatre during the Golden Age. Among several texts, more or less contemporary with the events of the battle of El-Ksar el Kebir, we will analyse two comedies which, despite their apparent neutrality, are ideological instruments at the service of the House of Habsburg.
