Abstract

On this study we try to understand in which way was D. Álvaro de Castro involved in the challenges brought up by the Portuguese maritime expansion of the 15th century. Thus, although it is important to understand his involvement in the military campaigns in Morocco, as well as his internal military activity, it is also significant to try and explore his association with the vessel charter headed to Flanders and destined to the supply of Ceuta.
