Abundant literature has tried to demonstrate the discrimination that the Spanish women suffered in the educational area during the dictatorship of the general Franco. The above mentioned discrimination was especially relevant in the higher education, where it seemed that women came up against a right low "ceiling of crystal". Less prolific than general works are the pieces of work that specifically detail the situation of women in the Spanish university. Nevertheless, the abundance of these national scale studies contrast with their absence on a local scale, especially for the case of Salamanca, the goal of our analysis. This article tries to mitigate this gap. On the other hand, the study of the case will allow us to confirm or refute the interpretive hypotheses and the previous studies carried out on a national scale.
