Insight into Satirical Image

The paper focuses on the issue of the satirical image and its connection with the spiritual and temporal powers. As for the spiritual power, the polemics involving the iconography and the representation of the Devine is highlighted, thus comparing the Catholic and the Protestant approaches. Regarding the relation between the satirical image and temporal power, the study attempts to interpret the underlying process of political desacralization and the elementary mechanisms underscoring satirical caricature.
