Abstract

The course of Portuguese historiography seeks to analyse the urgent and much needed tasks of updating Portuguese historiography. In the future, history shall involve setting aside the large structures, the great strategic movements and the "profound" explanations (which are seldom motivating and transforming factors) and shall focus rather on the practical and daily aspects, which may and should be analysed based new foundings of scientific and technical nature.
