This paper seeks to confirm regionally that the "Lights" movement in the Iberian Peninsula regarded less pure science and theoretical speculation and was more of an attempt to provide practical solutions for some problems, such as: clandestinely introducing subversive people and ideas, disturbing public peace and order, currency changes, contraband, improving collective health and the situation of the "vulnerable", combating poverty through social employment... With which measures or solutions? May some of these inspire a response to "What to do now?", as identical or similar social-economic phenomena persist?
