The COVID-19 Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) was one of the most trending topics in 2021 in Brazil, affecting 2022 election campaign. This articla analyzes whether the transmission of the CPI by TV Senado, a legislative broadcaster created in 1996, approaches the CPI to the reality show concept. This investigation evaluated the use of the sessions on senators Omar Aziz and Otto Alencar’s Instagram accounts during 2022 campaign. Theoretically, we used the concepts of society of the spectacle (Debord, 1967) and reality show (Feldman, 2008) and (Bazo, 2011). Methodologically, we conducted qualitative research, according to Minayo (2013), and a content analysis, based on Bardin (2011). In the analysis, we noticed that there were possible approximations of the CPI with a reality show, but the commission was the setting for a political show (Rubim, 2003) not entertainment. Its repercussions were used to give visibility to the mandates of senators who were re-elected.
