Populism and disinformation in the Covid-19 context
a reflection on Jair Bolsonaro’s manifestations during the pandemics

This essay aims to discuss the concept of populism and misinformation, in an attempt to understand its developments in the political field. Based on the posture of the President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, in facing the Covid-19 pandemic, our intention is to point out, in a hypothetical dimension e through interviews, pronouncements and posting on the social network, some parallels between populism, misinformation and manifestations of the Brazilian representative, during the months of March, April and May 2020, a period in which the public health crisis advanced in Brazilian territory. The cases presented here were the result of exploratory research and could be further investigate in the future
