If inequalities are present in the access and use of digital communication technologies, they also seem to resonate within digital visual representations, which allow women to see lives and bodies in the online textualities that circulate daily. In this place, photography and especially the practice of shared self‘portrait
in network play important roles in the management of contemporary self‘visuals. We seek to present the selfie and the nude as current forms of vernacular self‘portrait, and to locate its importance and use in the dissemination of feminine visuals in online environments. We conclude, at the end of the text, that the characteristic aspects of selfie as a photographic and media genre, facilitate the presentation of self, central to the enunciation of marginal visualities.
