This article analyses how journalists related to power during the New State regime. Contributes to understanding who were the journalists assigned with important roles in terms of constructing and maintaining the regime longevity, and how they circulated from media boards to high political positions. Despite the differences regarding the information politics of Salazar and Caetano, the main conclusion is that people were replaced, but the relationship dynamics between political power and media remained the same.
