Resumo

Este ensaio discute o livro Maldicidade (2014), do fotógrafo hispano-brasileiro Miguel Rio Branco, frisando a organização da sua unidade narrativa e poética como fotolivro. Em foco está a composição como um diálogo implícito entre texto e imagem e o uso de técnicas de montagem e colagem da vanguarda modernista visando a expressão da condição contemporânea da miséria e do sofrimento nas grandes cidades das Américas. O argumento principal é que a unidade do livro como fotolivro ultrapassa a natureza referencial da fotografia em função da narratividade visual no esforço de revelar a condição comum da sua urbanidade pós-humana.
