Often challenging traditional notions of reading, writing, authorship, text, and literature, electronic literature uses digital technology to raise awareness about global issues that pose numerous challenges to society. In this issue, exclusively dedicated to the creative process, artists describe how they responded to several societal and environmental challenges through their work.
