Abstract

Focusing mostly on McGann’s recent work, this interview addresses the reasons underlying his critical moves, and looks at his scholarly poetics of interpretation as a material engagement with imaginative works.

Author Biography

Matheus de Brito, University of Coimbra | CLP

Matheus de Brito, brazilian, born in 1988, bachelor in Portuguese Studies at University of Coimbra (2011) and PhD student in Materialities of Literature (2011-2016) at the same university, and, under joint supervision, in Literary Theory and History at Campinas State University (Brazil). His PhD thesis is titled Materiality and Contingency: Contributions to Aesthetic Thinking in Literary Studies (2017).
