Estudios previos señalan que el 87,5 % de las personas cis no considerarían a una persona trans como pareja (Blair y Hoskin, 2018). Sin embargo, se desconocen las percepciones que sostienen este rechazo. Este artículo explora cómo las representaciones mediáticas trans —en particular el arquetipo trágico— intervienen en la configuración de las personas trans como parejas. Se realizó un análisis de recepción mediática mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas a participantes cis (n = 20) de distintos géneros y orientaciones sexuales para comprender las interpretaciones que elaboran a partir de su exposición acumulada a narrativas trans. Los hallazgos permiten identificar un modelo relacional trans-cis articulado en tres ejes inéditos: la «carga», asociada a vincularse con una persona estigmatizada, junto con la «renuncia» y el «juicio», ligados a formar parte de una relación estigmatizada. Si bien este tropo promueve una visibilidad empática y humanizada, no se traduce en una mayor inclusión en el ámbito íntimo
