Vida Mundial Ilustrada and the Radio

The aim of this chapter is to analyze the radio news edited in Vida Mundial Ilustrada (1941-1946), a weekly newspaper that reached 278 editions. The magazine published 131 pages about the reality of national and international radio and with various news genres in all editions, including a full-page section (between November 1943 and March 1945). During World War II, radio stations played an important role in the entertainment and information of the Portuguese population, mainly by listening to international broadcasts such as BBC.
