This article focuses on the hybridism between digital party political communication and audiovisual journalism. It proposes to relate the communicative activity in the Instagram social network of 6 Portuguese parties with parliamentary representation (PS, PSD, BE, PCP, CDS and Chega), and their respective leaders, with the journalistic coverage of their activity carried out by the 3 main TV news, respectively Jornal da Noite (SIC), Telejornal (RTP1) and Jornal das 8 (TVI). We analyzed the political and partisan communication in the social network and the news frameworks in television journalism, identifying patterns in the relationship between the two platforms. We explored the cross contamination between the textual and visual discourses of the various parties and the television news, highlighting the main rhetorical strategies activated in Instagram and the television narratives. The article aims to contribute to a better understanding of the communicative logics of the parties in a digital environment and to explicit the transformations in the coverage of politics by television newspapers, integrated in hybrid media systems.
