In the scope of the doctorate investigation, funded by the FCT, we seek to identify and problematize the journalistic genres of the journalistic coverage of cinema made by the main portuguese media over the year of 2019.
Film Journalism constitutes a study object still very much unexplored by the social and communication sciences. Viewed as a subgenre of cultural journalism, Film Journalism is assumed as a field of informative, critical and reflective sense.
This article seeks, from a content analysis to the printed and online pages of the main portuguese newspapers (Correio da Manhã, Diário de Notícias, Expresso, Jornal de Notícias, Observador e Público) and the online pages of the Cinemax, from Antena3 e Cinebox, from TVI24 programmes, to identify and problematize the journalistic genres of the film coverage performed by these media during the year 2019. In this sense, we seek to analize the used journalistic genres, with respect to the approached themes, the discursive style, the protagonists or the multimedia options used in the onlinepages.
